Superman - Action Comics #1 (Cover)

My version of Superman inspired by the legendary Action Comics No.1 cover.

I´m planning to do a series of illustrations with a more realistic/down to earth approach of these first appeareance designs of many popular superheroes. Most people recognize the more recent interpretations but there are fascinating aspects from a design and also storytelling point of view of these early works.

Here we can see the suit made of cloth with noticeable seams, and a human body inspired by B/W photos of bodybuilders from the 30s.
